The TC-ALT is microprocessor based which provides for extreme sensitivity and reliability but maintains the simplicity of the Basic Controller. This unit features two jumper selectable set points for automated control of the fans. The first setting for closet applications turns the fans on at 80F and off at 77F with full speed achieved at 100F. The second setting, which is most appropriate for cabinet applications, turns the fans on at 88F and off at 85F with full speed achieved at 105F. With the variable speed feature, the fan speed increases in a linear progression until the fans reach full speed. So as the temperature rises, the fans turn on and speed up. Then as the system cools down, the fans slow down and ultimately turn off when the temperature drops below the setpoint which is determined by the different modes.
The on and off set points can also be manipulated by the positioning of the unit. If the controller is placed closer to the heat source (amp or receiver) it will obviously reach the set point quicker. Further away and it will not be as sensitive. Placement of the unit can vary depending on the particular application, however the best results are achieved through the recommended placement being directly in the airflow path of the fan unit.

Operating Modes
Set points are easily changed by moving the jumper on the unit to the L (Low) or H (High) position on the unit.
- Low Set point - On at 80F and off at 77F
- High Set point - On at 88F and off at 85F
